Fishing tackle are different tools used for fishing from fresh and sea water tiles. They can be used as they are, or combined with bait to improve catch rates.

However, like others fishing stuff it's not available on console versions.


Fishing Stick[ | ]

Fishing Stick is the first unlocked and is used for fishing in shallow waters. It has the lowest base catch rate, and can hold up to 10 bait to improve catch rate. It is unlocked by researching Blade, Mallet, Fishing Stick.

Fishing Rod[ | ]

The Fishing Rod is used for fishing in deep water. With it, you can catch two other types of fish. It can hold up to 20 bait to improve catch rate and has a range of 5 tiles. It is unlocked by researching Crude String Maker.

Good Fishing Rod[ | ]

The Good Fishing Rod is used for fishing in deep water. With it, you can catch 5 different kinds of fish. It has the highest base catch rate, and can hold up to 30 bait to improve catch rate. It has a range of 10 tiles. Unlike most other "good" tools, it doesn't improve catching speed over the normal Fishing Rod, it only allows to catch more types of fish and has a better catch rate. The Good Fishing Rod is unlocked by researching Brick House.

Efficiency[ | ]

This table shows the amount of time required for each fishing attempt. Durability decreases by 1 per action regardless of the number of swings.

Note that Fishing Stick takes 20 swings and scales with bot speed, while rods take a random amount of time that does not scale.
