The Research Station is a structure used to do research, to unlock new functionality and items. It can be upgraded multiple times, each for the next tier of research.
Research is done by adding Wuv (collected from Colonists) to a Research Station. Each research task also requires some start-up material, like a stone or a tool, which must be supplied for each research station to start research from that station. Each technology is assigned a tier from 1 to 6. It takes X sec where X is the tier of the technology being researched for Autonaut or a bot to add wuv to the Research Station.

Research Upgrade: Impact Apparatus[]
Research Upgrade: Impact Apparatus is the first upgrade to the Research Station, and it will become available once you have completed at least 3 research tasks. With this upgrade, you can do research up to level 2.

Research Upgrade: Abrasion Apparatus is the second upgrade to the Research Station, and it will become available once you have completed at least 10 research tasks. With this upgrade, you can do research up to level 3.
