There are several different ways to store items in Autonauts. Most items can be stored, and they are stored in different kinds of storage structures. The most common way to store something is in a crate.
Crates, and other storage structures like it, can be stacked on top of eachother to expand the available storage space. However, not all structures can be stacked. The maximum height of a stack is 3.
Different items can be stored in different amounts in the storage structures. The most common variant is to store an item in a crate, and that crate can fit 25 units of the item if not stacked. When stacking two crates, they will fit 60 items, and when stacking 3 crates they will fit 100 items.
After Bigger Storage is researched, stacks of 3 storage structures can be upgraded to their big equivalents using Ctrl + . Upgraded storage is required for storing T6 or higher items, and can hold much higher numbers of lower tier items. They also allow for much faster access, so bots will not block each other when adding and removing. A storage structure will be inaccessible while its upgrade is under construction.
